I Dream Of A Great…Holiday

I’ve realised that when people plan for holidays, that usually happens when they feel they deserve a break from the stress at work or when they get upset with the other half. There’s always a reason to go on a holiday. If you have a family with children, its because of the school holidays, the family should go for a holiday. You know, that kind of stuff? I am guilty of it myself in that I only would think of a holiday or a vacation when things are tough or when I need a break away from my kid. It has to be something, a reason that prompts us to want a break. If everything in our life is going well, a holiday doesn’t even exist. Its like the plague, it comes and it goes.
It got me to think, why do we need a reason? Can’t we dream of a holiday when things are going well? Forget about that bitch at the office who’s been giving you a hard time. If you are good enough, your job will still be yours even after you take a year off. Basically, what I am trying to say is that when we actually think of a holiday, its usually because we are so fed-up with the way things are going in our lives, not in a spontaneous kind of way when things are going well.
I guess it’s a form or our human way of escapism from life’s challenges. We dream of going to unfamiliar places as it takes our mind off our problems, even if for a short period of time. Lets be real, a holiday can’t last forever. Even celebrities get bored of soaking in the sun all day and all year long.
While we are at the subject of a holiday, a great, one of a kind vacation for me would be to spend it in Europe. Paris, Rome, Italy..you name it. Paris for its romance. Rome for its history and Italy for its mystery. I want to see everything, I want to eat all of the great dishes that are often shown on Discovery Channel, I want to stay in Hotel Florence,Hotel Naples and Hotel Rom, I want to be FREE.
