Are baby stuff over-prized?

I find it hard to believe how much some of these baby stuff costs. Really, a baby T can costs as much as my over sized ones. You’d think that since baby clothes for instance are smaller, hence, the more you can get out of a piece of cloth that they would costs even less right? Wrong! They costs even more than an average adult sized shirt or blouse.

This is just an example of how much baby clothes may costs but what about toys and books. I doubt children books are that difficult to write. I mean, how difficult is it to write an ABC or a 123 book anyway? And yet, these publishers are getting mega bucks publishing and selling them to us. Savvy business people they are!

OK why am I complaining? Simple - I have to get some baby gifts for a kid’s birthday soon and I ain’t enjoying it. Don’t get me wrong, I love the kid dearly but the prizes are just over killing. They are killing me wallet!

News of the century

And I mean it, LITERALLY!

Now, where do you get off not having to pay for your purchase at the time of purchase and have someone else pay for it long after you’re 6 feet underground and on top of that, absolved from paying any sort of interest on the principal. That is quite a bargain don’t you think? And yes, such benefits do happen to you if you are the future king of England! Go have a read.

If I were the merchant, not even a discount on the interest. Heck, my family have had to pay taxes anyways for the past 300++ years that the debt was owed to me. You have lived comfortably and now its time to pay back your dues (again, literally speaking).

The principal was about 450 pounds and the accumulated interest would’ve been about 47,000 pounds. That man must either have a good heart or he is mathematically challenged. Then again, he probably don’t have to pay any taxes for the rest of his life as a trade-off resulting from his good gesture. I wouldn’t know. But, what I would know is, give me 47,000 pounds and I’d give my entire house a nice face-lift. New furnitures and replace all my rotting blinds. Oh yes, and free petrol for the next 20 years of my life - I don’t drive that much.

A new No.1 in women’s tennis

The women’s final at Roland Garros has just completed. As expected, Ana Ivanovic won and very convincingly I might add. You would at least have some experience going into the finals after being the runner’s up at a final of a Grand Slam 3 times. I didn’t think she would lose especially after Maria pre-maturely crashed out of the tournament.

However, I was surprised to see Dinara Safina playing so well this year. Usually, she doesn’t even get through the 4th round in Grand Slam tournaments. But not this year, she really played her heart out and really believed in herself albeit falling short.

Technically, Ana was far more superior and so is she at the good-looks department. Did you see the acne on Dinara’s face? You know, as shallow as it may sound but in the real world, looks do play a part in getting famous, in getting noticed etc…I think with the runner’s up check Dinara received, she should look at some results proven acne treatments for her face. Its not too bad that its verging on horrid but can be better.

As for Ana, what did she gain out of winning at Roland Garros? Possibly a date with Nadal! LOL…Seriously, apart from being a million bucks richer, she will be the No.1 ranked women’s tennis world next week. Not bad for a 20 year old. Not bad at all. Power to the little people.

The Chinese story

Filed Under Luv it, Hate it

With the Chinese, we are very practical people. Wealth, money and richness is mostly what we live for. There is a very simple reason to this really - everything costs money. To eat, we need money. To own a roof over our heads, we need money. To pursue an education, we need money.

The Chinese were thought to live a prudent life. Finish our food as many are without them. Spend wisely as our future and children depend on us. These are the simple things that were taught by our parents who in turn were taught by their parents and so on and so forth. We never take what we have and our future for granted. This is one of the reasons why the Chinese survives almost anywhere and every-where in the world.

What you see are mainly the end results and the end product of their work. You see the fancy car they drive, the Patek Gondolo on their wrist but you would never know the hours they spend toiling and working hard to achieve this. You would never see them working when you are sleeping. You would never imagine the hours they sacrificed being away from their kids just so that they have a future.

That is a flaw I believe is pretty much etched in a Chinese blood. They tend to live for the future, for their children. The only thing on their minds would be whether their kids have enough to eat, to live. They always want a better life for their off-springs.

I doubt this trait will ever disappear completely. Dissipate slowly but not disappear completely no matter where they are being brought up and no matter the education they receive, they will always more of often than not, live by this rule. When you think about it, its not a bad thing, only a balance is needed.

Game room

Most luxury villas or bungalows have rooms for every occasion. There is a proper study, living room, dining and even a game room. Not your ordinary kids’ play room but more of an adult gaming room filled with a pool table, dart board and may even be able to squeeze one of them beer pong tables.

These houses or villas would not be complete without a swimming pool and you’d probably find a jacuzzi at the same place or lurking around a more secluded place. One other interesting fact I find with these luxury homes is that they are so huge to maintain. Imagine cleaning 8 different rooms and dusting over 100 or so decorations. Of course these people have cleaners that stay with them and I honestly do feel for these folks who has to clean and make sure the house is spot-less. I mean, no use having such a grand place if the house is full of dust and dirt, itsn’t it? O_o
