Some random stuff
So, did you notice my new blog layout? I like it for it’s simplicity. I have been looking around the past couple of days for a new theme and I actually was about to give up. Well, until now at least.
However, it’s still not what I want ultimately but it’ll do – for now
The weekend’s looming and it’s one that I am hoping that would bring me some good news. What you might ask? Not now, I won’t say much at the moment cos I’m afraid I might jinx it. But, it has got everything to do with my camera..*wink*
Apart from that, we’d also be making our way to visit Gnat’s long time colleague and mentor, F, who together with his wife will be relocating to Argentina. Work related. Gnat and F have been working together for more than 10 years and he treats Gnat like the son he never had. So, you can imagine how difficult and emotional his goodbye speech was the other day.
In truth, deciding on what to give F and his lovely wife as a going-away present was rather difficult. I mean, what do you give to someone who has had everything that they’d want or hope for or probably even more? It’s not and never an easy task I’ll tell you that much. I believe with the 2 of them, they have lived life probably to the fullest and everything else is merely secondary. They have truly been there, done that if you know what I mean.
So, I’ve decided..probably against my better judgment (you’ll see why), to give them one of my photos, in print bound together in a nice and neat frame. I’m not that comfortable with my photos. Maybe I did take a couple of decent shots but I’m still by no means confident that they are a hit. Hence, my concern that the photo Gnat and I have carefully chosen may not suit their liking. But, you know, we didn’t want to just get something off from the shelf, wrap it and go “here, have a great trip. Send us a POSTcard”. It’s kind of meaning-less don’t ya think?
Anyway, since we’ve decided that this would be a more meaningful gift to give, I am keeping my fingers crossed that they’d love it. Or at least, understand the gesture, you know.
I’ve gotta go get that done today.
I’m a little nervous. And I have not even started selling my prints yet — something that has been playing around on my mind lately. I might just give it a shot. Sort of close my eyes and take aim – land me a big one..heheheh…ah…when that happens, you’ll hear about it for sure.
p.s : the image above isn’t the one we chose. I’ll take a snap shot of the final piece later.

Love your new layout
I am sure F and his wife would love the gift. It comes from the heart
I for one, love the new look…and I think the gift will be received well. Why not…a quality item given with love!
