It Is Official

I finally received the kiss of death from Mr. G on my other blog. That means “Welcome to the year 2008 and here is an ‘egg’ to reward you for it”. Its a little frustrating of course since I do paid post on that blog of mine. But the magnitude of my frustration is nothing compared to those who have been earning mega bucks before the previous slap from Mr. G. At least I know a little of how it feels like to be suddenly told that you are not allowed to write for higher paying opp when you know that you could do an equally good job as the other joe on the block. To see that you are only awarded with the minimum when you have experienced the ecstasy of writing for a yes, higher paying opp. It is of course DAMN WELL FRUSTRATING. But I suppose, Mr. G’s gotta do what Mr. G’s gotta do, to preserve and restore the credibility of its system. If you ask me, I don’t know how well this the restoration process will be or is by slapping blogs who so well deserve those ranking?

Need traffic?

Getting a PR is not as difficult as trying to get traffic to your blog. Don’t believe me? I am living proof or rather, blogging proof of that fact.

This blog is unfortunately, quite dead in terms of traffic. Although, in terms of PR, it can have some hope but I am not betting on it. For a blog like mine, new and un-explored, seeking help from a seo specialist to assist me in getting some traffic may not be such a bad idea.

People like www.traficare.com are here to help you drive traffic to your site. They are a seo company specializing in stimulating the flow of qualified visitors to their clients’ sites by applying a range of optimization and promotional techniques. Considered the seo expert by many, I may just give them a visit and who knows, my traffic could surge after my appointment *smile*

Some Random Thoughts

Some family updates. My sister is feeling alot better. I took her out in the evening yesterday to have dinner at a local mall. Things are still uncertain. Luckily, she has not done anything stupid. I hope things will work itself out soon enough. Thanks for everyone’s concern. I am deeply touched by your encouraging words even if we have only known each other online in this short period of time and haven’t even met in real life. Really appreciate it.

I shall stop with my sister for the time-being until further development. I am happy to say that this blog has stopped doing any sponsored posts lol…Not the owner but the sponsors have decided to stop awarding jobs to this low traffic blog. Thanks to this ultra hardworking and ultra kind blogger, I have some, otherwise, there would be none. I have definitely not given up totally but seeing as how rankings are moving about within the blogsphere, I don’t mind it one bit if this blog has zero paid posting.

Then it sort of hit me, like a snowball. Whenever I could, I would snoop around at freelancing opportunities. Bloggers who have embarked on that road. It seemed like a possible mini career for me. The only restriction I have at the moment is time and that I don’t procrastinate so much. At least this way, I don’t have to think about search engines, traffic etc..matters synonymous with ‘making money from your blogs’. You don’t have to mix ‘work’ with ‘leisure’ like what I have been doing with paid postings. My blogs are supposed to be an outlet for my thoughts, I should really keep it separate. A fact which I am very aware of is that this freelance road, isn’t easy. Many have tried and are still trying. With the right attitude, I think anything is possible. The most important thing to remember not to think about the dollars and cents at first. Once you get the ball rolling, the dollars will roll along as well. What I am getting is that this blog will be, among other things, primarily focused on this new venture of mine. It will have a purpose, at least.

Managing all software data is not an easy feat. There are software tools available to help one with these chores. However, a web development agency should ideally have a computer software that can keep record of all, whether it is an educational software, or the much more common antivirus firewall software. This is like letting the holders of web design contract take care of anything and everything pertaining to web design.

This super cute mommy gave me many things. I really must thank her for her hospitality and thoughtfulness. This time, she gave me a happy blogging poem. I really needed it. It speaks my mind at the moment. In an ideal world, blogging would be fun, blogging would be exciting, blogging meant sharing. Now, blogging has turned into a venture. A venture that I have embarked though not on a large scale but with my current situation and schedule, its enough for me to breathe.

Well, to do who have embarked on this venture, let me present to you this happy blogging wish :

1. Helen

2. Kerry

PR Issue…Not Again!!??

My itchy fingers tell me not to continue with this but my itchy head tells me otherwise. So, who do I follow? My head of course cos my fingers are tired from writing pp :P

If you have been around the sphere, people aren’t happy. People are upset. They might just tear down G’s building, burn the damn network. All because of the PR issue. On the other hand, the very same people are going around town explaining and posting that the PR doesn’t affect them as the blog is theirs, traffic is abundance etc…So, why bother?

The truth is, PR DOES MATTER and especially for those who are monetizing their blogs. Yup, there have been many who have blogged about how one shouldn’t rely on the dreaded PR but to look at the number of traffic the blog gets. Yet, they are perturbed by the PR movement. The thing is, PR is still highly regarded as a measure of a blog’s popularity (whether we like it or not) just a a big car is a measure of wealth.

It has been the measuring stick for a long time for both bloggers and advertisers to a point that it is quite impossible to disregard it as much as both want to. It is easier for the bloggers though as they can simply looking at their statistics and the number of comments they get daily to know if they are still popular or not. The PR therefore is good to have. Then why do bloggers feel affected? The only reason I can think of is because it is not them who is going to value their own worth, it is the advertisers.

The advertisers will not know what your statistics are like neither are they going to inspect each and every blog to count the number of comments they receive for each post. Besides, the number of comments isn’t a true reflection of a blog’s popularity anyways because there are blogs without a single comment could very well be a busy blog. The problem seem to be that the advertisers are not going to micro every blog, they are just looking at blogs on a macro perspective. That’s why advertisers continue to use PR as their tool. Its easy, convenient and someone has already done the hard work.

People will continue to argue that it doesn’t make sense since they see plenty of visitors (the silent and the noisy) daily but yet, they’ve been told that they are not good enough or not as popular as they thought. Surely that has got to hurt, even for a little bit.
