But, that little activity is now over for us because they are home. The only problem is — they have no connection to the outside world what so ever. Their car battery won’t start, phone lines gone wonky, no internet connection, the Astro is also out. It’s like living in the primitive world only to be surrounded by modernity. You feel so isolated from the world without connection. Don’t you think?

Anyway, I hope the phone company’ll come soon to get the lines repaired. We’ve been calling them, going to the office personally to lodge a complaint — personally. Yet, it’s been several days now and nothing has been done. Are we experiencing bad service or what? Once the phone lines gets repaired, I will get hubby to buy the business phone systems. Something more reliable for the old folks.

The thing is — I have given up on resolutions or coming up with any; even one. DOn’t want that hassle of being bound by something unrealistic that because of my situation, I cannot fulfill. WHat a load of crap!  Many moms or SAHM do it. Yeah, I know, many people are capable of so many more things but I am the lazier version. My long-time ambition is to sleep and eat and just hang. So, being a mom just doesn’t not permit me to hang up my socks. I’ve got to roll with it.

Having said that, I am pretty sure I can afford some form of a resolution-type list. I can have, say…5 items on said list that I know I can pretty much tackle. One of them would be to feel less stress. Take it easy. Live life as if it were your last. Then, I’d probably add yoga onto that list. If so, I’d better add an addendum list to it called “shopping list”…hahahah. Well, if I am going to be doing yoga, I would definitely need some nice yoga clothes and yoga mats at yogadirect.com, don’t you think so?

See..I already 2 on that list. It wasn’t that difficult was it? I will go back to think of 3 more and then, I will be done.

OK, cut the crap (or at least I hope it’s crap and not some prophecy). I can’t help but to think of next year already because the first quarter will be quite a challenge for us and not to mention, the months flying at lightning speed. Soon, we’ll see March and don’t even know what hit us.

We have got lots and i mean LOTS to do next month. We are pacing ourselves but can’t go any slower because time waits for no man (or woman). I have to get the sofa in, walls painted, bathroom done, backyard done, wardrobe done and kitchen done. Can you see that we have our plates full and don’t even talk about ordering the floral arrangement! I simply cannot imagine. CANNOT.

OK, better get cracking if I want to at least fulfill half of that wish-list.

We have extremely busy the past couple of weeks leading up to the year end. FOr one thing, we plan on renovating our house a little bit. We’ve never done much to our house ever since we moved in more than 6 years ago, and we figured  now is probably a good time to be doing something. As a result, we have been busy firstly, deciding what we want to do. Not easy because of space constraints. Besides, we don’t plan to do too much seeing as how we want to live in a home and not in a show-house. Plus the fact that the hubby and I, we’re both sentimental freaks — there are just way too many stuff we want to keep. But, no we don’t want to go down the hoarder road so we have been careful.

Apart from that – I say this every year – I have a personal goal I intend on achieving. It’s funny for someone who doesn’t work to have a ‘goal’ but yeah, I do. It’s weird I know but in all fairness, my intentions are good. I will have to make sure that it happens next year. At least, I want it to happen.

2012 will no doubt be another crazy busy year for us. Not only for me, but for the rest of us in the family. We don’t know where the road will take us but we are hopeful that the path will be filled with adventure.

SO, have a great and fabulous Christmas in the meantime. An exciting new year awaits..:-D

Ash wasn’t too happy though. She wanted to follow her grandparents and she wanted to go to her aunty’s house ‘for a while only’. Poor kid doesn’t understand that it’s not a matter of ‘for a while only’, it’s a matter of lots of $$ involved and her aunt’s place is very very far away. She won’t be able to take being away from us for far too long. She’s not there..yet. We skyped with them yesterday (I am in love with this conference calling service) and she showed her aunties and uncles plus cousins all her paraphernalias. She was happy for a while and once everyone said good-bye, she was sad again.

As much as we would like to go visit them every holiday, it’s just not that feasible because it’s just too expensive. When we strike the lottery perhaps but not for a while at least. Which is why I say skype is the best invention…EVER!! She can talk and see their reaction all at the same time. The best thing if you ask me.

We kind of do the whole thing : the mandatory Christmas tree with presents underneath, dinner. Although, dinner for us is on Christmas Day itself where after dinner we get to open all the presents. heheh. It’s what Ash been looking forward to all year and all day that day. It wasn’t difficult telling her to wait for everyone to arrive before opening the presents, but I could tell that she really tried very hard not to tear open them.

Now, the only headache that beckons is the fact that I don’t know what to get for my Dad. He’s such a fussy pot when it comes to stuff. Someone suggested to get him one of those michael kors watches but frankly, I would much rather give him money or something so he can go buy whatever he wants..heheh.

We’ve managed rent out our apartment. It did take us a while because we are choosy landlords. But, the waiting was worth the wait. It’s been 2 months now and rent is always on time. The only snag is, this family, they are more interested to own a place rather than rent and they have expressed their interest in purchasing our unit but we told them quite flatly “no, unfortunately”. Hey, that is my only source of income. Can’t part with that…yet.

Oh, we’ll be celebrating our 10th anniversary this year. Hubby will not be getting me anything this year. Well, he hasn’t said it, I am just assuming because he’s told me my ‘present’ will be next year. Yes, he told me what it is and oh boy!!! I am darn excited! No, he’s not getting me that antennas for digital tv, if you’re wondering. You’ll know when that happens because, who knows what might happen in 12 months..:-D.
