I was watching my favourite sport last night on my trusty 21 inch old fashion tv and it suddenly dawned on me that…my tv is REALLY old fashion.
I believe it is about time we get one of those sophisticated technologically advanced LCD tvs and HDMI switches. Even my in laws has one (courtesy of the hubs of course). I supposed its justified getting them one and not for our home is that they needed it more than we do. The tv is on for more than 18 hours a day so I guess if you average the usage and amount spent…seems to me a pretty darn good deal. However, I still want one. Hopefully, I’d get my wish eh..on my coming birthday *wink*.

This is the first of what will be considered as “many” home enhancement posts on this blog. The reason is simple really – I have a variety of passion and fussing about the home is/are one of them.
On top of the list is the garden and your garden would not be complete unless you have the best garden set. Many may have opted for steel, wooden, plastic or vinyl furnitures and these options are great but one that speaks of comfort and style at the same time is the wooden set – teak.
Teak or “tectona grandis” (as known within the scientific community) garden furniture have many varieties in itself. From patio sets, tables, to chairs, benches and lounges. It is a hard wood which is resists wind, pests, heat and severe weather. Also, very common for marine construction usage. Apart from its durability, the teak wood does not easily splinter, making it one of the most if not, the most popular wood furniture.
Furthermore, the desirability factor steps up a notch due to its evergreen look – elegant and classic. Another attractive feature of the teak furniture is the fact that it is easy to look after. Because of its high degree of durability, there is very little you need to do. Simply use a dry cloth to wipe off dusts. Apply a thin coat of a specially made teak oil (available at most furniture shops or outlets) on the surface of the furniture after cleaning it. The oil replaces all the natural oil that the wood loses over time and restores the glossiness of the teak, its hue and durability. Also, this will prevent spills or stains from seeping into the wood. Not very high maintenance at all, which is exactly what you need for an outdoor furniture set.
