Yes, truly was spectacular but unfortunately, we didn’t get our monies’ worth and almost got our camera lens confiscated! I’ll tell you what happened :

If it’s your first time at any tennis Grand Slam tournament, like we were, read the rules. They will plaster it all over the court. We were scheduled to watch Nadal play Ferrer on Australia Day for a spot in the semis. And there were a whole bunch of rules like what you can bring, what size lens etc…For whatever reason, I am sure it must be a good one. Oh and dont even bother with the tripod because it won’t be allowed in.

So, I thought, with my Nikon 70-300 I had the best lens in the house!! Next to the pro-photographers of course. Also, I was very tempted to bring along my tripod. I am glad I didn’t because during bags-checkin (yes, you’ve gotta open up your bags and let them rummage through your personals before letting you pass through), they told me I couldn’t bring in my lens. I could keep it in the lockers that they provided at the park. Can you believe it? WHat if I had a 70-200 which is way larger than my zoom? Doesn’t make sense but anyway, we just walked away for a bit until hubby had the most brilliant of all brilliant idea. He suggested to hide the lens in his pants pocket. He was wearing those cargo pants with huge pockets on the sides?

We went in through different lanes, and when the lady asked where my lens was (cos my camera body looked pretty crazy without a lens strapped in), I had to act fast and told her it’s in locked away and that I was told not to bring in. Seeing the crowd, she let me go without asking for the locker chit. And, I went through.

Phew! That was indeed a close one. But, hubby told me not to walk around with my camera just in case someone reported me bringing in “illegal” goods. So, I had to take pictures right where we sat. Which was not too bad but not so good for taking pictures cos I always get the sides. And the players walked out from the direction of where we were seated so I only snapped their backs instead.

Despite the lackluster performance by Rafa, it was a good experience inside Rod Laver arena. It was spectacular to say the least. I know, it’s nothing compared to Center Court at WImbledon or even Philippe Chatrier at ROland Garros, still..it was impressive.

We had every intention of going to the French Open next year but looks like, our trip to ROland Garros will have to wait a couple more years. We simply cannot afford the tickets currently. We will have to postpone it till a little later.

So, anyway, just a little pic to bring you to 2012..heheh…Can’t wait for the OZ Open to begin!

Anyway, from where I am, I can only watch the morning half of the scheduled play for like an hour tops. Then when I wake up, I get to watch the night session. Of course, not without having to fight with the girls for the tv first..naturally. Anyway, tonight’s match isn’t all that interesting. Roddick is playing for starters. Not a fan. He should retire. Then, Sharapova. I am bored already just thinking about them. You know, bored like how you’d get if you were a living barcode scanner being utilised to scan bar-codes all day. I probably would just shut myself down and call it a day! hehehe..

Look forward to tomorrow’s draw I guess. In the meantime, I have tons to do at home!

But, since it was indeed a rare occasion, something that doesn’t happen all the time, I took full advantage of it. I don’t know how some women shop with their toddlers in tow but I know I can’t. I will get too exhausted just pushing the little fella around and attending to her every demand. I would much rather do it alone, in my own time without having to squeeze the stroller into the small fitting rooms. Besides, I had to climb up flights of stairs just to get to my destination. No way in hell am I going to lug the ton of steel up whilst carrying a baby. Nope. I just do not have the strength nor the willpower to do so. I am just a lazy arse!

So, yeah, I got some interesting pieces. Bright christmasy colours of orange and green. I know!! Please don’t judge me – I honestly do need some colours in my life.

Shopping is something I can do in a jiffy. I am not one to spend hours trying on every item on the rack. So, I got home just in time to relax, kick off my heels and watch some telly. Some re-runs of CSI that I missed. I don’t know why but something about serial killers and dead chopped up bodies in stainless steel drum, I really dig. Call me insane or creepy, but I love those shit.

Ok, I am talking crap (again). I’ll come back…later.

I went shopping with my besties Thursday afternoon. We met for lunch at Sunway Pyramid and then we went off on our crusade. It was fun, girly and felt so exhilarated that I didn’t want to go home. hehhehe..I bought a measly pair of earrings. I didn’t know what else to get. And since, we spent most of our time chatting. Plus, with our aged bodies, we couldn’t walk much without being tired. That was a fun Thursday indeed…and we did it all without the help of payday loans, so yay!!

Anyway, that was the most fun part of my pre-New Year activities because what ensues later on in another post was almost a disaster. “Almost”, of which I am simply grateful for. Will let you in on the scoop next.

Are you guys ready for Christmas?

I am only just. I am super super exhausted. Went out for a scrumptious Japanese meal last night at KL Hilton. My jaw dropped when I saw the state of Brickfields because I haven’t been there for ages!! Oh, I took a wrong turn and ended up in brickfields but made a quick U-ie and I was back on track.

I love the hotel. Ravishing. ANd the food was excellent. I am not exactly a fan of Japanese but my friend wanted so we ate. Speaking of my dinner date, I haven’t met her since…since…gosh, I think since she gave birth and her son is now 6 years old. It has been that long. It’s really great catching up on lost time and felt really happy she’s doing so well in her career. I have a feeling that we’ll be seeing a lot more of each other from now on. Lots to do and lots to catch up on too.

I need to get plenty of things ready. Gosh..looking at my to-do list is enough to give me a headache. I have another full week ahead and it starts on Christmas. We have our Christmas dinner, then the next day, we’ve been invited to watch a kids’ performance. And then, last minute stuff for my PIL before they head off for their trip, another shopping date with them girls and to sort out all the handover stuff with the Tenant. I am not looking forward to next week — I really am not!

I have to brace myself…pop lots of C’s, close my eyes and hope for the best. SOmetimes, you just cannot over-think things and just move ahead.

I took a tube and read the label. Before you know it, I bought one for myself without checking out any reviews online, not even conducting diet pill reviews for that matter.

So far..so good. I have cracked feet, especially the heel. Up until now, I’ve never used any cream for them. I just didn’t know which one to get. Plus, I am so darn lazy (sic!). Since she spoke so highly of the cream and what’s good about this brand is that they use natural organic herbs as base, not animal parts like fish scales or whatever. So, I figured that I can use this cream without fear of developing allergies. YOu know how sensitive my skin is and how a relatively popular sun protection cream can cause such a headache for me. After that incident, I’m very weary now.

I’ve used this cream for a little over 2 weeks now. Not everyday though I try to. Even then, it’s working pretty well on my feet. The cracks have disappeared. Even the peeled skin under my feet have healed. No longer peeling the dry pieces. I am seriously happy with the results and am sticking to this brand. So convinced with this that I even bought the hair revival cream to counter hair falls. The tonic my hairdresser recommended doesn’t seem to work so I’ve just purchase the Himalaya Hair Revival cream. The only qualm I have about using this is – will I start sprouting bushy hair after this? heheheh..:-P

They have wide range of health and beauty products. And the prices are relatively inexpensive. My friend gets her foot cream in Dubai cos the packaging is so much bigger. They don’t stock that size here in KL. Plus, the creams don’t smell bad at all. The scent is just like any other that you can find at your local drugstore.

Let me try out the hair revival cream and I’ll let you know what the result end up as..hehehe….*fingers crossed*
