Other than my beloved family, that would be my laptop. Yep, not my bags nor my watch collection or my already dried make-up set but my lappie! Can you beat that??!! I guess its true what they say about blogging - changes your whole life!! LOL
Before I started blogging, my computer skills were as good as a 7 year old trying to navigate through human traffic at a mall. Then again, that 7 year old could be better than me. I was a complete idiot when it comes to computers. Really I was and still am by a mile. But I’ve gotten better Even my younger sisters have been impressed with me *cough* knowledge and *cough* skills..
What can you possibly do? Sometimes, you just have to learn to get with technology and forge ahead. I was literally swimming in the dark, drowning at times but learnt to float thankfully. Now that I have mastered this, its getting stale…I might just have to find myself something else to do. Probably crochet..crochet anyone? Don’t laugh, I might just knit you a funky sweater! O_O

With the Chinese, we are very practical people. Wealth, money and richness is mostly what we live for. There is a very simple reason to this really - everything costs money. To eat, we need money. To own a roof over our heads, we need money. To pursue an education, we need money.
The Chinese were thought to live a prudent life. Finish our food as many are without them. Spend wisely as our future and children depend on us. These are the simple things that were taught by our parents who in turn were taught by their parents and so on and so forth. We never take what we have and our future for granted. This is one of the reasons why the Chinese survives almost anywhere and every-where in the world.
What you see are mainly the end results and the end product of their work. You see the fancy car they drive, the Patek Gondolo on their wrist but you would never know the hours they spend toiling and working hard to achieve this. You would never see them working when you are sleeping. You would never imagine the hours they sacrificed being away from their kids just so that they have a future.
That is a flaw I believe is pretty much etched in a Chinese blood. They tend to live for the future, for their children. The only thing on their minds would be whether their kids have enough to eat, to live. They always want a better life for their off-springs.
I doubt this trait will ever disappear completely. Dissipate slowly but not disappear completely no matter where they are being brought up and no matter the education they receive, they will always more of often than not, live by this rule. When you think about it, its not a bad thing, only a balance is needed.

“Ben Campbell is a brilliant student at MIT who dreams of Harvard Medical. However, to qualify for the coveted Harvard scholarship, his essay must ‘dazzle’! Pretty daunting eh? Well, until he meets his professor who has ‘part-time’ work with his students. Every weekend, Mickey Rosa, Ben’s professor, takes a couple of his students to Las Vegas where they count cards to win money and splits the win thereafter.
Seeing as how he needed a whopping $300 grand, he agreed and joined in the ‘fun’. Things however, took an ugly turn when the team loses a huge amount of money in one night which saw to the parting of Mickey and Ben. Worst..with Ben now leading the team. Mickey, obviously feeling dejected and seeking revenge, reports them to the casino security.”

I always hate it when people reveal the ending of a movie I intend to watch and I’ll be darned if I am gonna do it now to you guys. Nope, ain’t happening here mister! Its worth a watch really, if you are into casino flicks.

I am usually pretty lax about lots of things, but if there is one thing that I am spot on is spotting a GREAT.
Take for instance, I am a fan of Mariah Carey ever since she burst on the music scene with Vision of Love. At first I thought she was Whitney on radio but there’s a distinct difference in the voice. I listened a little longer to hear the DJ announce the name of the singer and that was how I knew. I was “wow-ed” and immediately put my mark on her being the next recording super star.
And a super star she was. She broke records and very smartly got married to one of the biggest recording label mogul. Granted, that marriage didn’t last, fell ill and she was even dropped by Virgin Records signifying the slump of her music career.
I am not going to talk at great lengths about Mariah because well, her story is pretty much well known by now and I will only be regurgitating what’s out there anyway. I will, instead tell you why I chose her or picked her as my “Great” even though I may not always agree with her music style or buy all her albums.
First of all, she writes her own songs. Whether single-handedly or a collaborative effort. I liked the fact that she’s involved musically and not merely sing songs that are written for her. To me, thats’ talent. Secondly, she received a lot of personal flak about her personal life and people also associated that down-hill slide with her professional life as well. But she was unfazed and had the emotional resiliance to silence all critiques when she bounced back with “Emancipation of Mimi” (which was, by the way, very aptly titled). The most important of all, I feel, is that while all of these were going on, she was never reported to do drugs or anything of that sort. She pretty much led a clean image throughout. Sexy does not count as bad, that’s just clever marketing.
I’m not saying that she’s the epitome of an ultimate role model for women but to me, I relate to her..her songs and accept the road she has taken (music wise). So, thats pretty much my reasons, what’s yours?

You will never believe what I saw this morning when I went out walking this morning! Today was one of the rare occasions that I took a short stroll around my neighborhood. More like around my house from the front to the back and back again. I saw the most ugliest of all dogs. Actually, I don’t even know if it is a cat, a boar or a dog. I am serious! Looks like a cross between a Tasmanian devil and a wild boar!! It was ugly black and stumpy. And someone was actually “walking” err…it. It ran all over the place until it came to me, with its pinkish tongue sticking out from its mouth and panting. OMG, I had goose bumps all over when I saw that thing. I swear it wasn’t a robot dog or CAT6. I turned away and headed back home. From the corner of my eye, I saw the owner, picking it up and carrying it away. Blek…*shivers*

and probably plenty of similar ones in my 16 room mansion of course. One for the entire family, including my grandma. I would have a butler, a chef, a whole host of people fussing about the house. Oh yes, and a personal assistant to take care of everything, including online car insurance. And I don’t even need to get out of bed *day dreaming at its best*.

Remember her?
The face for Calvin Klein fragrance was (apparently) contracted as the new “spokebutts” for Calvin Klein’s underwear line despite her stint in rehab recently. Ms. Mendes will be replacing Natalia Vodianova who has been the body for CK Underwear until this year. Ads are scheduled for this fall. So, guys, don’t say that I didn’t give you any leads here *wink*
