choosing the best digital cameras

My cousin has a Kodak (I believe) compact. It’s ancient. He’s had it for ages. His wife was, being a typical ‘woman’, complained to me about how hopeless the camera is as you can’t even see the night shots after you’ve taken them. For many years she’s been nagging him to change or get a new one but he, being a typical ‘man’, refuses to do so and prefers to “sit on it”.

Naturally, I sided with the wife. I told him to throw the dinosaur away and get a new one. These days, there are just so many variety in the market if one where looking for digital cameras. Not necessarily for a DSLR but even finding a suitable compact is tough. You can find all sorts of brands with their variants. Take for example Canon, you have the Ixus, you have the PowerShots, and you get the almost-DSLR’s in PowerShot Pro. Under these sub-headings, you are presented with the variants — which one to choose???..

With the very limited knowledge I have, I told him to get the Canon Ixus for a very reliable compact. Doesn’t matter which model, just find one that is suitable to the budget and what you want out of that camera. I doubt he’ll be interested in the DSLRs so, safer bet – go for the IXUS. If I had the inclination back then, I would’ve gotten the IXUS and not my Olympus (which has since become Ash’s toy). You can’t really go wrong with the IXUS.

I’m almost done with my Christmas present. Almost. Slogging at every chance I get on a daily basis (excluding the weekends because we have family engagements/visits left, right and center during those times); they are enough to keep us occupied the entire 2 days leaving us no room for anything else.

So, anyway, I’m pretty excited about the album and how it has turned out. It’s Vol 1 of the girls’ life and documenting the little nooks and crannies of their lives thus far. Well, at least I try to capture everything I can get my hands on and at every chance I get.

Now, I will have my final look and check before I get them sent out to the printers. Once it goes out, there’s no turning back. I wish I had one of them “brother printers” at home so that I know, even if I made a mistake, there’s still hope and chance to rectify the problem. Since I don’t, I will have to be very very careful not to muck it up!! So…**fingers crossed**.

..that it isn’t the camera, but the skill.

I guess I honestly won’t know because I have the most basic and entry level camera out there; plus, I have all those almost worthless lenses you can possibly own. They are the cheapest for the range. So I don’t exactly have the best gears around town.

But, I will try to beat the odds and make the above statement come true. This weekend, all the world will know if I have raw talent or not. hehheeh…Not to worry, you will know about it first hand. .
