After 2008, Gnat would’ve served his present company for more than 10 years. Imagine that! Personally, I can’t. Who in their right minds would remain in the same company for such a long time and being so loyal? I know – my dearest hubby.

So, in the company’s efforts to show some gratitude *cough* appreciation *cough again*, they are throwing a luncheon for these kid souls sometime next month. And I get to come too; partners and/or spouses are invited (some may need a dose of diet pills after all the food consumption). Probably to take photos, shake hands and thank the hands that feed us…yadda yadda yadda…

I know, I sound a bit cynical and ungrateful. It’s not. I just think that it’s all a farce. If you, the company, truly and I mean TRULY want to award the deserving lot – give out monetary compensation instead. Most, if not all, are grossly (and I am not just saying it and that is already saying too little) underpaid. And please, do not talk about the current economy crises because, in the industry Gnat is in, it (the economy) don’t matter that much and proof of that – take a look around the office premises and you will see what I mean .

Ah well…who am I to complain? I can’t bleach my skin…
