Anyway, did anyone watch the ultimate match last Sunday? Are you still thinking about the missed backhand by Nadal? Are you still wondering how Nadal lost and Nole won? Is anyone still wonder where Federer was when the match was played? Did anyone NOT watch the match that lasted almost 6 hours?

To tell you the truth : the match – for the most part – lacked quality. Really it did (not have quality tennis). It had the usual drama of Nole scrimping, praying, and all. It had the moments of Nadal coming back from the brink of defeats. It lasted till the wee hours of the morning but had it been a Fedal match, it would’ve made all the difference. Think about the Wimbledon final between Federer and Nadal, and you’ll know what I mean.

The one last Sunday just didn’t have that little extra. That extra which Federer and Nadal brings on court. Just better tennis, better quality and just about better everything.

Perhaps it could be because the tennis world is still coming to grips with Djokovic being World No 1 and a tennis contention. I mean, it’s not surprising to me because a couple of years back when Nadal was trying to break through, Federer sided Djokovic for being the Next World No 1 and not Nadal. In fact, it was Federer who saw what Djokovic was capable of, not any of us. He mentioned that after one of his many GS wins, I just can’t remember which one. Nevertheless, it was the great GOAT who first predicted Nole to take over the throne. And he’s right. The person that Fed can’t beat, Nole can and quite easily too.

If it was a Fed and Nole final, I can bet you that Fed would’ve won. It’s one of those things. It’s a threesome those urm..3. Funny but true.

So, I wouldn’t really remember much about the match in Australia. There was in effect nothing to shout about. I may be biased but the semi-final between Fed and Nadal should have been the final. Now THAT — would have been a match to remember.

Yes, truly was spectacular but unfortunately, we didn’t get our monies’ worth and almost got our camera lens confiscated! I’ll tell you what happened :

If it’s your first time at any tennis Grand Slam tournament, like we were, read the rules. They will plaster it all over the court. We were scheduled to watch Nadal play Ferrer on Australia Day for a spot in the semis. And there were a whole bunch of rules like what you can bring, what size lens etc…For whatever reason, I am sure it must be a good one. Oh and dont even bother with the tripod because it won’t be allowed in.

So, I thought, with my Nikon 70-300 I had the best lens in the house!! Next to the pro-photographers of course. Also, I was very tempted to bring along my tripod. I am glad I didn’t because during bags-checkin (yes, you’ve gotta open up your bags and let them rummage through your personals before letting you pass through), they told me I couldn’t bring in my lens. I could keep it in the lockers that they provided at the park. Can you believe it? WHat if I had a 70-200 which is way larger than my zoom? Doesn’t make sense but anyway, we just walked away for a bit until hubby had the most brilliant of all brilliant idea. He suggested to hide the lens in his pants pocket. He was wearing those cargo pants with huge pockets on the sides?

We went in through different lanes, and when the lady asked where my lens was (cos my camera body looked pretty crazy without a lens strapped in), I had to act fast and told her it’s in locked away and that I was told not to bring in. Seeing the crowd, she let me go without asking for the locker chit. And, I went through.

Phew! That was indeed a close one. But, hubby told me not to walk around with my camera just in case someone reported me bringing in “illegal” goods. So, I had to take pictures right where we sat. Which was not too bad but not so good for taking pictures cos I always get the sides. And the players walked out from the direction of where we were seated so I only snapped their backs instead.

Despite the lackluster performance by Rafa, it was a good experience inside Rod Laver arena. It was spectacular to say the least. I know, it’s nothing compared to Center Court at WImbledon or even Philippe Chatrier at ROland Garros, still..it was impressive.

We had every intention of going to the French Open next year but looks like, our trip to ROland Garros will have to wait a couple more years. We simply cannot afford the tickets currently. We will have to postpone it till a little later.

Are you guys ready for Christmas?

I am only just. I am super super exhausted. Went out for a scrumptious Japanese meal last night at KL Hilton. My jaw dropped when I saw the state of Brickfields because I haven’t been there for ages!! Oh, I took a wrong turn and ended up in brickfields but made a quick U-ie and I was back on track.

I love the hotel. Ravishing. ANd the food was excellent. I am not exactly a fan of Japanese but my friend wanted so we ate. Speaking of my dinner date, I haven’t met her since…since…gosh, I think since she gave birth and her son is now 6 years old. It has been that long. It’s really great catching up on lost time and felt really happy she’s doing so well in her career. I have a feeling that we’ll be seeing a lot more of each other from now on. Lots to do and lots to catch up on too.

I need to get plenty of things ready. Gosh..looking at my to-do list is enough to give me a headache. I have another full week ahead and it starts on Christmas. We have our Christmas dinner, then the next day, we’ve been invited to watch a kids’ performance. And then, last minute stuff for my PIL before they head off for their trip, another shopping date with them girls and to sort out all the handover stuff with the Tenant. I am not looking forward to next week — I really am not!

I have to brace myself…pop lots of C’s, close my eyes and hope for the best. SOmetimes, you just cannot over-think things and just move ahead.

I really would love to watch The Tourist. I am eagerly waiting for it actually. If we do get to watch the movie (dear God, please grant us that wish!), it will be the first time, in a very very long time, hubby and I set foot inside a cinema…together…as a dating couple. So, that, in itself, will be an interesting experience.

That said, I have a feeling hubby might want to watch Tron instead. Seeing as how we only have one pass each and how this may possibly become a heated dispute, I should start thinking of a solution to this before hubby does…hehehe. I might just say that we’ll resolve this by using the stone-paper-scissors-method – what do you think? Childish I know…but…who can blame me? I am constantly surrounded by children younger than 5 years old and I have lost touch with how or what adults do to resolve disputes.

If left to the hubby, he’ll suggest getting a samsung projector instead. Now, I won’t have any problem with that except that we do not have clean white walls to project any imagery onto. FUrthermore, we do not have a room big enough or large enough length wise to properly place the projector. Lets also not forget that we do not have the sound system for such cinematic gadgets.

So, you see, wouldn’t stone-paper-scissors be a much better idea for our kid of problem? You tell me…

Signs of the elections coming?

Time to cash out methinks. We’ve been toying with the idea of selling our place for so long and we’re just waiting for the opportune moment. Will that moment ever cross our path?

We have never made ourselves to believe this is our place. For some reason, we’ve managed to feel detached from this house we’ve been calling ‘home’ for the past 6 years. At least, it (detachment) for me because when we bought it, we bought it purely for investment purposes…nothing more.

As the years went by — the trees grew, so did our fondness for our home and our community. It’s simply the best where we are concerned. We live amongst the friendliest and most considerate people we know. We chip in, we help each other out and more importantly, our focus remain in sync at all times and that is to ensure a safe and harmonious living condition within our community. Our security guards, their efficiencies and dedication allows us to sleep in peace every night. I haven’t lived in many places for me to make a fair comparison, but I can safely say this is definitely “as-good-as-it-gets”.

This explains the quandary that we’re in right now. We know that, apart from the pricing, we’ll never be able to get it back if we let it go. Unlike cold and lonely steel buildings, we are surrounded by warmth and lots of love. Tough conditions to beat, won’t you agree? We’ve going back and forth…back and forth..and we’re still here. Perhaps we’ll just leave it for now and re-visit the plan later. Who knows? Sometimes, you’ll find the answer in the least expected places…

My first NaBloPoMo blog post. Well, sort of and frankly, I am lost for words.

Anyway, this photo was taken at my MIL’s place when we celebrated the lantern festival. More photos to come as soon as I get down to processing them.

You may be wondering what I’ve made myself do. Nothing fancy or out of the ordinary for sure. I merely enrolled myself to the local gym. I’ll tell you something else, the enrollment took place some 6 months ago!

Guess what’s happened to my membership? Yep, it’s all gone down the drain; along with my hard earned cash and very much suffered the same fate as my best weight loss supplement.

That’s not the best part – to get my gym membership re-activated, I’d have to pay a hefty penalty! Talk about bummer. It’s no wonder no one exercises and everyone gets fat…*sigh*
