a swiss miss
I had the most awesome 10 days in Swiss. Never mind we made a boo-boo on getting traveling tickets and for the 1st 2 days that I was there, I had to walk very very far just to get to the train station and only to find that we didn’t have to because there’s a bus stop just outside of our apartment. Never mind that we paid for some of the attractions which again, we didn’t have to if we checked properly. Not sure why, we just assumed and plus, no one told us. I mean, usually, if anyone you know were traveling to Switzerland, it’s usually on a packed bus-load. Very rarely do you hear of anyone doing their own independent visits.
Also, another reason why we just didn’t do much research was because we had a very short time for traveling and in the midst of getting the girls taken care of before I left, doing research was the last thing on our minds. Besides, it was only a 10 day visit for me and a 2 week work stay for Gnat. It wasn’t as if we were in uni or anything where if we were, kids and lack of time didn’t exist. I honestly envy university students. Gnat has been one while I never experienced it because I studied externally back home. Almost like an online university but the difference is, I had friends, group studies and attended classes. I think I’d be really lonely without anyone.
So, what I’ve learned is, check the tourism information before leaving; preferably months ahead. I didn’t have the luxury to cos it was a last minute decision of me going.
A lesson learnt definitely and if you ask me, I still have some unfinished business with the Swiss Miss
