Get Noticed

I know how difficult it is to get jobs and don’t even mention about getting the jobs you want. I find that the feeling is especially relevant when supply exceeds demand i.e more people seeking employment than there are jobs available. Then the filtering comes into effect since employers can afford to be picky.

To even get the first interview is hard at times. This is especially so when you are fresh out of school. You can be sending hundreds of application out but yet, none will be replied. Having tons of resumes stacked up against the wall in an employer’s room and after a hard day’s work with the bosses, the last thing you want to do is go through the stack.

The fundamental mistake most people make is by sending out run-of-the-mill resumes. You need an impressive resume to get your potential employer’s attention because getting that first, is ensuring that half the battle is won. Then, you will have to work on the other half to land yourself the job but that is another story by itself. For the moment, you need to learn how to make a resume stand out among the hundreds of thousands. You need to rise above the rest in order to succeed in this competitive employer’s market.
