It’s over
What everyone had anticipated came true. What they didn’t want happen, happened. There is only one word to describe the feeling – “disappointing”. But its not the first time that we all sympathize with (Roger) Federer whenever he loses to (Rafael) Nadal. Most of the time, Federer’s unforced errors are uncannily a high number whenever he plays Nadal. I know its not only him but the rest of the pack as well but you know, this shouldn’t even happen to the guy whom people has claimed to be one of the best in history. With his myriad of shot selection, you would think he know which one to use against Nadal by now.
But I guess not. I believe he knows how to play Nadal and to beat him too. The one thing that is preventing him from doing so is the inner confidence. He gets unusually pressured and tight whenever Nadal is over at the other side of the net. Now, that is something no one can help him but himself. He has to find a way to bury that ghost and move beyond that. To me, this is the key and Nadal knows it.
Oh well, I think I’ve said enough. Everyone has said enough. It’s the same thing – Federer has to somehow get that confidence back against Nadal. Otherwise, it’s no different than hanging up and throwing in the towel now cos Nadal will continue to exploit this weakness of Federer and whack the balls out of him (pun intended).
What have we learn for the day? Fed needs more confidence and I just need more computer memory.
