Rekindling old friendships
I’ve been part of the social networking site, Facebook for sometime now. It’s great. Well, actually, not initially because I prefer blogging honestly and got tired of the restrictive nature of the structure. In the sense that the features are designed for one on one games rather than interaction. The only thing I loved about it was that I am able to share my photos with friends.
Another feature I love about it is that it allows me to re-connect with old friends. Friends whom I have not seen in a long time. For instance, an old classmate of mine “found” me via facebook and we’ve been in touch ever since. We were only in one class together and that was when I was 13. And we sort of went our separate ways after that. I don’t know; we just grew apart and had other friends. She left our school when she turned 16 and that was the last I saw or even heard from her.
Until now.
Gosh, that was over 20 years ago. And I am happy to have met her once again. And from the photos, she looks great. Slim but great — the way she’s always looked. Although, in some, she looked as if she’s lost a tremendous amount of weight – help of a diet pill perhaps?
She’s now based in HK where she works and she’s been dating her man for the past 10 years. I can’t wait till she’s back so we can catch up. Gosh, that will be 20 years worth of stories and I am not sure how long we’d take to finish telling each other that! But I am excited…I’m looking forward…to meet my friend once again..:-D

I’ve thought FB a perfect vehicle for just this sort of thing. Guess I just don’t have enough people I’d potentially like to reconnect with to make getting involved with it worth the time. Happy for you though…
Update: I’m now doing Facebook. And what do you know, I’ve already found an old high school friend.
